Just messaging.
Private, calm and safe — paid for by people, not ads. A messenger for your family and close friends in India.
- End-to-end encrypted
- No ads, ever
- Made in India
What you won’t find
Lagrange does one thing: messages between people. These stay out, for good.
- No statuses or stories
- No channels or feeds
- No ads, ever
- No messages from businesses you didn’t write to first
- No engagement tricks or streaks
- No selling your data
What you get
Everything you need to keep in touch, and nothing that pulls at your attention.
Chats and groups
Replies, read ticks you can turn off, and delete for everyone. Nobody adds you to a group without your OK, and you can leave quietly.
Photos, videos, files and voice
Share what matters, end-to-end encrypted like every message.
Share with anyone
Send a file to someone who isn’t on Lagrange through a private link that expires, or ask them to send you documents the same way.
On your computer too
Link a browser by scanning a code with your phone. Your phone stays in charge and can unlink it any time.
Your number stays yours
People who don’t already have your number don’t see it. Block anyone in one tap; they aren’t told.
Calm by design
No feeds to scroll and no counters to chase. Notifications are for messages from people.
Voice and video calls Coming
One-to-one calls, encrypted end to end, made to hold up on a weak 4G signal.
Scam warnings Coming
Risky links and apps flagged before you tap, and Family Protection for elderly parents.
How privacy works
Not a promise in a policy: it’s how the app is built.
Encrypted on your phone
Every chat, including one-to-one, uses MLS, the open IETF standard for end-to-end encryption. Only the people in the chat can read it.
Our servers can’t read messages
They pass along scrambled data and delete it once it’s delivered (or after 30 days). Photos and files are encrypted before they leave your phone.
Little to know about you
We keep your number encrypted, your chosen name and your devices. Finding friends checks numbers and stores none of them.
Plans
Paid for by its members, never by ads or your data. One membership covers the people around you: the people you bring in join as guests, free.

Questions
Short answers to what people ask first.
Is Lagrange free?
The closed beta is free. After that, Lagrange is paid for by its members instead of ads. The people a member brings into their groups join as guests, free, so a family needs only one membership.
Can Lagrange read my messages?
No. Messages, photos and files are encrypted on your phone with MLS, the open standard for end-to-end encryption, and only the people in the chat have the keys. Our servers pass along scrambled data and delete it once it’s delivered.
What if my family isn’t on Lagrange yet?
Bring them in: as guests they join free to talk with you. Until then, you can still send them a file or ask them for one with a private link that expires.
Why another messenger?
Because messaging got crowded with statuses, channels, ads and business messages. Lagrange keeps only the part that matters: talking with your people, privately and without distraction.
When can I join?
Lagrange is in a closed beta on Android. Join the waitlist and we’ll email you when there’s a place for you and your family.

Lagrange is invite-only while we test it with a small group. Leave your email and we’ll write when there’s a place for you and your family.
